Our Research

Our Goal

Collaborative Care Interdisciplinary Model

Collaborative Care Interdisciplinary Model

Our goal is to conduct innovative research that transforms how we understand and support survivors of human trafficking and those most vulnerable to exploitation. Our dedicated team of researchers focuses on key areas affecting survivor well-being, including mental and behavioral health, socio-economics, and policy. Through data-driven analysis, advocacy, and strategic partnerships with stakeholders serving this community, we aim to drive meaningful change and improve outcomes for survivors.

Collaborative Care Interdisciplinary Model

Our collaborative care model integrates interdisciplinary research with a focus on survivor recovery. Through shared leadership, we partner with human trafficking survivors from diverse, often disadvantaged backgrounds who seek restorative justice but are typically excluded from traditional legal and social support systems in the U.S. justice framework. By forging strategic partnerships with academia, clinical research institutions, and independent media networks, we address human trafficking at both individual and systemic levels—an essential two-fold approach to eradicating modern slavery. Explore the sections below to learn more about our evidence-based research and practice-driven initiatives.

-The Truth About Modern Slavery-

Modern slavery is a hidden crisis across the U.S. Houston is one of its major hubs due to its size, diversity, and transportation routes. Victims—often immigrants, youth, or those in poverty—are trapped in forced labor or sex trafficking through coercion and abuse. Donations support shelter, legal assistance, and recovery programs, providing survivors with a genuine path to freedom and a brighter future.
